Equity for Climate and Resilient Community Program
Implemented by: Terra Verde Consult
Location: Chipili District, Luapula Province, Zambia
Terra Verde Consult is implementing a 6-month project (June – December 2026) in Chipili District to strengthen social inclusion and gender equity in rural communities, with field activities centered in Nsombo Chiefdom. Women and youth in Nsombo face limited access to decision-making, productive resources, and climate adaptation support, despite playing a central role in farming and household resilience.
The project combines participatory assessments, community dialogues, and training to identify barriers to inclusion and test practical solutions. We’re working with traditional leaders, women’s groups, and local government to promote equitable land access, shared household decision-making, and women’s participation in community water + natural resource committees.
Outputs Inlude:
- Gender + social inclusion baseline for Nsombo Chiefdom
- Action plans co-developed with chiefdom leadership
- Training for 120 women and youth on leadership, financial literacy, and climate-smart agriculture.
Goal:
Shift norms and systems so women, youth, and marginalized groups have voice and access to opportunities that build resilient rural livelihoods.
