The Centre for Environment Justice (CEJ) convened the National Resettlement and Compensation Indaba in Lusaka, bringing together MPs, government ministries, traditional leaders, mining companies, and communities. The dialogue supported the Revised National Resettlement Policy of 2024 and the Cabinet-approved Resettlement Management Bill 2026, aiming to transform resettlement from a source of conflict into a pathway for inclusive growth. CEJ Executive Director Maggie Mwape commended government and mining partners for backing the framework and called for deeper collaboration on community engagement and climate resilience.
